In our Learn to Sew Summer Skirt or Shorts class, you’ll create a stylish, handmade addition to your wardrobe! Choose between sewing a summer skirt or a pair of shorts and master essential sewing techniques along the way.

About the Class:

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to sew your choice of a summer skirt or shorts. This is a perfect class for beginners looking to create something wearable while developing sewing skills! Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the sewing process, including fabric cutting, machine setup, and stitching techniques. No prior sewing experience is necessary—all skill levels are welcome!

What You’ll Learn:

• How to select and cut fabric for skirts or shorts
• Straight and curved stitching for garment construction
• How to use an overlocker
• Adding elastic waistbands and finishing touches

Who Should Attend / Skill Level

This class is ideal for beginners ages 12+ or anyone eager to learn garment sewing and make something fun for summer!

Participants are expected to have prior experience using a sewing machine and ideally should have attended one of our previous sewing classes or taken our Stitch Basics Class.

Leave with a Summer-Ready Skirt or Pair of Shorts!
Participants will finish the class with a completed summer garment and new skills to use on future projects.

Cancellation & No Show Policy

All Creative Community Space classes are limited to a certain number of participants.  You need to give us notice if you wish to cancel.

We must receive a minimum of 1 WEEKS’ NOTICE of any calculations. Failure to do this means that your fee has been forfeited.

Last-minute cancellations will also be considered as No Shows
